Netflix cancels 13 Reasons Why after its fourth season – as series three trailer reveals the death of a major character

NETFLIX has cancelled 13 Reasons Why after its fourth season – as it’s revealed the next instalment will follow the shock killing of Bryce Walker.

The hit series will follow the format of a murder mystery as the students of Liberty High School are all put under the microscope.

The new season is set eight months after Clay Jensen (Dylan Minette) helped prevent Tyler from going on a mass shooting spree at Spring Fling.

But the chilling new trailer shows that the drama is far from over for the students as villainous jock Bryce Walker, played by Justin Prentice, is murdered.

The chilling teaser is narrated by the season’s newest character Ani, played by British actress Grace Saif.

Opening against the sea of sirens present at the crime scene, Grace says: “Deputy Standall, here’s the thing about the kids of Liberty High.

“They’re connected by their secrets, connected and forever changed.

“The truth is, given the right circumstances, the right motivation, anyone could have done this.”

It’s clear that tensions are running high between the students as the trailer shows Jessica Davis, played by Alisha Boe, aggressively confront jock Montgomery de la Cruz (Timothy Granaderos) in the school lobby.

And it seems Montgomery’s enemies are everywhere as he also has a violent showdown with Alex Standall (Miles Heizer) in the bathroom.

Other cryptic moments include new girl Ani frantically attempting to clean what appears to be blood from a cloth.

And the stakes are raised when Bryce is killed in the aftermath of a tumultuous Homecoming game that throws everybody into chaos.

Clay finds himself under police scrutiny as the murder leads to an investigation that threatens to lay bare the teenagers’ darkest secrets.

Filming for season four has already commenced and will focus on the core cast’s graduation from Liberty High.

Netflix have since confirmed that it was also be the final instalment of the hit drama.

Season 3 will hit the streaming service on Friday August 23.
