EPIC has revealed the brand-new Fortnite Season 10 Map
Fortnite Season 10 is dropping in today, and while we’ve seen the patch notes, what many fans want to really see is the new map. Well, Epic has updated the Fortnite Map for Season 10, and while we were promised a strange mix of old and new, initially it doesn’t look like much has changed.
This is the standard way of doing things in Fortnite, with the map being changed every season and bringing in new points of interest, new biomes, and even the occasional huge new map feature. Last season we saw the emergence of the futuristic Neo Tilted and Mega Mall. There were also the Slipstreams, huge airways that could get your around the map far faster than other methods.
This time though we’ve been warped through some kind of time continuum, and as a result, there are both new and old areas around. If you look at the map below, you may notice that Dusty Divot is gone and has been replaced by Dusty Depot, which was destroyed back in Season 4.
Not only that, but the giant kaiju skeleton seems to have corrupted some of the areas around it and has turned them a putrid colour. It’s now a permanent fixture of the map, at least until the next big load of changes.
Although the trailer did seem to be hinting at more changes to come, so it could be that this map is more temporary than we realise.
Things get even more interesting if you take a closer look around Dusty Depot too, if you look just below, you’ll see that the meteor seems to be hovering just above the area. Does this mean we’ll get to watch the crash happen all over again? Will the meteor just be hanging above Dusty Depot like the moon did above the world of Majora’s Mask?
It also gives a better look at the corruption of the monster skeleton. It seems to be creating some kind of strange pattern, maybe something more sinister is still lurking in the area.
There’s a lot to take in, but we’ll be able to see more of the map changes as more updates come out, and as soon as the Fortnite website is back up.
