While Stacey Fowler is up to her eyes in drama in EastEnders, it’s nothing compared to actress Lacey Turner’s reality, who has just welcomed a new baby and will no doubt now be up to her eyes in dirty nappies.
Lacey is now enjoying the summer on maternity leave, although her Walford character Stacey is still on screen.
It’s not clear when Stacey will make her exit, to make way for Lacey’s maternity leave, but one question on fans’ lips is..
Soap stars often take time out for maternity leave, returning to the soap after they’ve had a few months off with their new arrivals. However, maternity leave can also pave the way for dramatic storylines which could see key characters written out of the soap for good.
Either way, fans will have to get used to not seeing Stacey every night soon, as her departure storyline has already been put in motion.
Stacey’s husband Martin Fowler (James Bye) is convinced she still has feelings for Max Branning (Jake Wood), whom she previously had a relationship with.
Despite Stacey insisting she doesn’t, Martin isn’t convinced and demands that she prove she wants their marriage to work.
With the pair at each other’s throats, some are convinced their relationship difficulties will lead to Stacey’s exit from Albert Square.
And if she does, could Martin make a shock exit as he chases after her to save their marriage?
While it’s hoped that Stacey will eventually return after Lacey’s maternity leave finishes, it’s not yet known so fans will have to watch this space.
Lacey and husband Matt Kay welcomed their first child in early July – a baby girl who they have called Dusty Violet
She was spotted earlier this week getting to grips with motherhood as she took Dusty Violet on a walk.
Lacey and Matt, who married in 2017, spoke to OK! magazine last month, revealing how they chose her unusual moniker. Lacey said: ‘It wasn’t on our original list but we did an internet search for “pretty girls names” and we both said it at the same time!
‘Her middle name is Violet, which I also love. We’ve had mixed reactions, people either think it’s really cool or they don’t really know what to say!’
